Barrett Tryon covers Bradenton and all of Manatee County for Tampa Bay 28. He joined the team in March 2026.
He’s a proud Sarasota native, born and raised minutes from the world famous white sandy beaches of Siesta Key.
He joined Tampa Bay 28 from KXAN-TV in Austin, where he covered some of the biggest stories in central Texas as a reporter and anchor.
He has also worked as an anchor and reporter in Green Bay, Wisconsin at WFRV-TV and Missoula, Montana at KECI-TV.
When he’s not chasing down a story, he’s probably chasing around his Golden Retriever Bailey, googling “Barrett Tryon,” or combing his hair.
