Head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, Chauncey Billups, was arrested on Thursday in an illegal gambling case, according to ABC News.
ABC News said law enforcement sources confirmed Billups was arrested in Oregon, where he is expected to make an initial court appearance later on Thursday.
Billups played in the NBA for 17 seasons and is a five-time All-Star and a three-time All-NBA player. He has been the head coach of the Trail Blazers since the 2021-22 season.
Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former Cleveland Cavaliers player and assistant coach Damon Jones were also charged in a separate but related illegal gambling case, and they're among six people charged Thursday with turning professional basketball into a criminal gambling operation, law enforcement sources told ABC News
FBI Director Kash Patel is expected to announce the charges along with other law enforcement officials during a news conference Thursday in New York City.
