Tropical Storm Ernesto forecasted to become hurricane as it nears San Juan

Tropical Storm Ernesto is expected to become a hurricane on Wednesday and a major hurricane in the following days.

According to the National Hurricane Center, at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Ernesto was about 125 miles northwest of San Juan. The tropical storm had sustained winds of 70 miles per hour and was moving northwest at 16 miles per hour.

On the forecast track, the center of Ernesto will move northward away from Puerto Rico on Wednesday. The storm will then move over the western Atlantic later in the week and be near Bermuda on Saturday.
