ORLANDO, Fla. — A person was hurt after multiple drones fell from the sky during a drone show in Downtown Orlando on Saturday night.
In a video recorded by the user MosquitoCoFL Podcast posted on X and retrieved by ABC Action News, it shows many drones lit up in red and green colors rising in the air. Then, drones that appear to be on the lower rows of the show begin to fall. The video also shows the iconic swans in the area quickly flying away.
According to WFTV-TV, the Federal Aviation Administration said the small drones collided and fell into a crowd at around 6:45 p.m. at Lake Eola.
The Orlando Fire Department told WFTV-TV that one person was hurt during the event.
The FAA reportedly said it regulates drone shows and examines every detail, such as the software controlling the drones, procedures in the event, and how close aircrafts get to the crowd.
City officials said the person injured in the event was taken to a hospital.
The FAA will continue to investigate the incident.
