Blake Phillips, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, joined Tampa Bay 28 as a multimedia journalist and reporter in June of 2025.

Blake was born in St. Louis, but grew up in Southern Arizona. Before joining Tampa Bay 28, he worked as a morning reporter at KGUN 9 in Tucson, Arizona. Covering breaking news and politics ranging from a fatal plane crash to the campaign trail. During the 2024 election cycle, Blake covered multiple presidential and vice presidential visits, including then-candidate Donald Trump and then-Vice President Kamala Harris, each making trips to the Southern Border. Blake also focused on immigration stories, reporting from the Arizona-Mexico border on multiple occasions, including the murder of a former American Marine in Mexico.

Blake is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, where he studied Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. While studying, Blake also worked for the NBC affiliate KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. While there, he reported and anchored multiple newscasts while studying full-time. MIZ

As a former college athlete, Blake spends most of his free time watching sports, in the gym or walking his two golden retrievers, Shelby and Abby. After spending most of his life in the Southwest and Midwest, he is now enjoying spending more time at the beach and snorkeling!
