PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — Police in St. Petersburg said an investigation is underway after a 13-year-old boy accidentally shot himself while he rode his bike on Thursday night.
Authorities said the boy shot himself near the 1900 block of 11th Avenue around 7:35 p.m.
The child went to First Mt. Zion Missionary Church, a nearby church, for assistance.
According to authorities, the boy's injuries are not life-threatening.
Investigators are trying to figure out who owns the gun and how the boy got it.
