HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is working to extinguish a large fire that included multiple explosions, officials said.

Just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday, HCFR responded to a reported residential fire in the 34000 block of Talisman Street in Ridge Manor.

The fire incident involved a mobile home and multiple travel trailers on the Ridge Manor property.

Initial calls reported heavy black smoke. Multiple explosions were occurring on the property as well, officials said.

Crews found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames once they arrived, along with multiple pull-behind RV-style trailers.

Two additional engines and tankers were requested to the scene and Pasco County Fire Rescue also responded to assist.

Officials said it took crews over an hour to bring the fire under control, and they remain on scene working to extinguish the property fully.

People are asked to avoid the area.

“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”

South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
