A man accused of stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of tools from a work truck was arrested a day later while riding a bicycle and pulling a trailer seen on surveillance video.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said Joe Talmadge Butts, 56, broke into the bed of a work truck parked at a business on Windhorst Road on Aug 21 and stole multiple bags containing tools.
Deputies said investigators later identified Butts as the suspect through surveillance footage and investigative work.
On Aug 22, deputies located Butts riding a bicycle and pulling the same trailer captured on video during the theft, according to HCSO.
Deputies arrested Butts and said they also found methamphetamine in his pocket during the arrest.
