HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot at another car during a road rage incident on I-75 late Friday night.

According to the FHP, at around 10:45 p.m., Friday evening, a 25-year-old woman from Tampa was driving a Hyundai Veloster northbound near Fletcher Avenue when she noticed a 2000s model Honda CR-V driving erratically. The FHP report says as the Honda began to weave into her lane, the woman honked her horn to alert the driver. In response, the Honda's driver pulled out a gun and fired into the right rear door of her car.

The woman, who had a 23-year-old man and a 1-year-old child with her in the car, quickly drove away and reported the incident to law enforcement. Authorities were able to recover the bullet from the Hyundai. Fortunately, none of the people in the Hyundai were injured during the shooting.

FHP describes the suspect as a heavy-set black man with a short beard, aged between 25 and 35. Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to contact the FHP at *347 or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.

“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”

South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
