The Clearwater Police Department said a death investigation was underway after a body was discovered in the water.
The investigation was at Cortland Bayside, 19369 U.S. Highway 19 North. The body was discovered Saturday morning.
Clearwater Police said the body was found floating in the waters of Old Tampa Bay near the mangroves. The body was handed over to the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office who will determine the cause of death.
Police said the man's identity is currently unknown.
