LAKE WALES, Fla. — Lake Wales Police said they have made an arrest after responding to an early morning stabbing death on Saturday.
Police said they have arrested Mihaela Mallen, 49, and charged her with second-degree murder for the death of a 71-year-old man.
According to Lake Wales Police, officers were called to a home on Ashton Palms Drive in Lake Wales around 6:19 Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound to his chest.
Police rendered aid to the victim until Polk County Fire Rescue and the Lake Wales Fire Department arrived.
The victim was taken to Lake Wales Advent Health where he died from his injury.
Mallen was taken to the Polk County Jail after her arrest.
