ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Two teenagers are facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, after a shooting in St. Petersburg left one adult dead and one teenager injured.
Officers were called to the 100 block of 80th Avenue Northeast around 1:18 p.m. after receiving reports of someone being shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims had gunshot wounds.
According to officers, Marcus Rivers, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old was also shot and transported to a local hospital. He remains in critical condition.
Detectives determined that three men approached Rivers in his vehicle when shots were fired, leaving Rivers dead and the 17-year-old injured.
The 17-year-old is being charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery, and delinquent in possession of a firearm.
A second suspect, a 16-year-old, was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Detectives are currently pursuing leads on the third suspect.
Police believe this is an isolated event with no immediate danger to the public.
The investigation is still ongoing.
