TAMPA, Fla. — An Orlando motorcyclist was killed on Interstate 4 Saturday morning after crashing into the back of another vehicle, authorities said.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the 39-year-old motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed eastbound on I-4 west of U.S. Highway 301 in the center lane at about 2:06 a.m.
The motorcyclist then overturned, traveled into the inside lane and collided with the rear an Audi Q7, driven by a 67-year-old Seminole man.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, the report stated.
The driver and passengers in the Audi were not injured.
Eastbound I-4 was shut down for several hours.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
