TAMPA, Fla. — Police are investigating a death after shots were heard near the 1400 block of W. Busch Blvd.

According to the Tampa Police Department, officers received reports of shots heard just after 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police said when they arrived, they saw the body of a Black male victim, later identified as 14-year-old Jevario Buie, who had died of a gunshot wound.

Buie was found near the railroad tracks between Busch Boulevard and Rome Avenue.

Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to contact the Tampa Police Department at 813-231-6130 or contact Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 800-873-TIPS.

“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”

South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
