PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) arrested a shooting suspect on Sunday who was accused of killing a man.
Deputies said the shooting happened at the 5000 block of Hill Drive in the Zephyrhills area.
PCSO said they believe that an argument between two adult men, who knew each other, escalated, leading to one man to shoot the other at about 4:45 a.m. on Sunday.
The victim was taken for medical attention but was pronounced dead. The suspect fled before deputies arrived.
PCSO said Sunday evening that they arrested Joel Heredia, 39, for 2nd degree homicide and felony possession of a firearm in connection to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information was made available.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
