HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — Hernando County Fire Rescue confirms that no hazardous material was involved in the major vehicle crash on US 41 on Wednesday morning.
One person was hospitalized, according to officials.
HCFR said the crash happened on US 41 near Old Crystal River Road just after 7:30 a.m.
When they arrived, crews found one person trapped inside an SUV. After the person was freed, they were determined to be a trauma alert and flown to a local trauma center.
A portion of US 41 was closed during the time of the crash but has since reopened.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
