RUSKIN, Fla. — A crash in Hillsborough County left four people dead after it hit a home on Sunday night.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said they received a call about the crash near Shell Point Road West and 32nd Street Northwest in Ruskin around 8:15 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they found the four victims who were in the vehicle during the crash. They were later identified as Richard Wilson, Cynthia Wilson, James Janus and Shannon Janus.
HCSO said there is no indication of criminal activity at this stage of the investigation.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
