HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A 37-year-old Georgia man is dead following a three-car crash on the Howard Frankland Bridge Monday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Troopers reported they were called out to the scene of the accident just before 10 p.m. on Jan. 12.

An investigation revealed the Chevrolet Silverado, driven by the man from Musella, Georgia was headed southbound on I-275 along the Howard Frankland Bridge, while a Ford F550 driven by a Tampa man was working within an active construction zone at Milepost 34.
FHP said the Georgia man failed to yield to the construction workers, when his Silverado entered the work zone and closed lane, and collided with the Ford truck.

Debris from the initial crash hit a Nissan Titan of a Largo man, who was also traveling southbound on I-275.
The Georgia man died at the scene of the crash.

FHP said Tampa driver and two other construction workers aboard the Ford F550 suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
The Largo man was unharmed during the incident.
