TAMPA, Fla. — A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Brittany Lane in Tampa.

Tampa Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 10900 block of Brittany Lane around 12:36 p.m. on Thursday. Officers found a woman in her mid-30s with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite life-saving efforts, she died from her injuries.

Investigators identified the suspect as Jamarian Bradfield, who was reportedly involved in a verbal argument with the victim just before the shooting. Bradfield allegedly pointed a gun at her during the confrontation before firing.

Officers said they found Bradfield at a nearby apartment complex in the 10400 block of N 22nd Street. He was armed when detained but taken into custody without incident. Police seized the firearm and impounded the 2015 Mercedes sedan he had been driving.

Bradfield has been charged with murder and was booked into Orient Road Jail. Authorities said the incident was isolated and the two were acquainted.
