DADE CITY, Fla. — Four people were hurt after a shooting occurred Wednesday night in Dade City, authorities said.
At around 7:20 p.m., neighbors who knew each other got into an argument in the Starline Drive area, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) said in a news release.
The argument escalated, and one of the neighbors fired a gun, deputies said. As a result, four people were hurt in the shooting and transported for medical attention.
PCSO said the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident as the people involved knew each other. There is no safety threat to the public.
Deputies will continue to investigate the shooting.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) says it may be time to do away with homeowners associations altogether, as more Floridians speak out about rising fees, costly lawsuits, and even arrests tied to HOA disputes. He said this week that he is considering filing legislation in the next session that would abolish HOAs statewide.
