SARASOTA, Fla. — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting on Saturday that left one person dead.
At about 3:30 a.m. deputies responded to the 3400 block of 17th Street, where they saw a large crowds with multiple shooting victims in a parking lot.
One victim, Tommie L. Battie IV, 24, was found dead. Four other victims were being treated at local hospitals in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, but there is no update on their conditions.
It appeared to be an isolated incident, officials said. No other information was made available.
The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Section is currently investigating.
