SPRING HILL, Fla. — Deputies are providing new details about an incident that occurred in Spring Hill early Monday morning.

The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said they initially received a call around 3:10 a.m. that the caller's boyfriend, later identified as 28-year-old Curtis Neraasen, had kicked the door in at a home on Cobblestone Drive and retrieved a gun, which he may have fired while inside.

No one was injured during the incident, but Neraasen fled on foot before deputies arrived. Later, around 7:30 a.m., Sheriff Al Nienhuis said they received more information that Neraasen actually lived at the home in which the caller said he "invaded" and he paid rent.

According to deputies, Neraasen was working out of the state and had just gotten home. They said they would still like to speak to Neraasen, but they no longer believe it was an armed home invasion.
